The Lucy Calkins workshop was fantastic. I highly reccommend attending. I added a few anchor chart pictures from mini lessons - silent reading voices,
Ken Goodman's Model of Proficient Silent Reading, Nonfiction Conventions.

Here is a site that has great free photographs for projects. Jupiter Images I use these photos for the background

The new F&P benchmark assessment has been out a few months and is broken into 2 kits:
Kit #1: Grades K-2 with Levels A-N
Kit #2: Grades 3-8 with Levels L-Z
Each kit is $250.00.
Look at the running record calculator/stopwatch it comes with! Even if you don't purchase a kit, the nifty gadget can be bought separately at 19.95!

This past school year, I wrote to 180 book companies telling them about our campus. After stating the demographics and extremely high number of our students living in low socioeconomic environments, I asked if we could receive free publication samples, over-runs, discontinuations or warehouse samples from their company. This table shows the overwhelming responses we received. Who would have thought? Ask your Literacy Coach to do the same for your campus.

A powerful visual I saw online:
